Devon is a native to North Carolina and grew up an hour northeast of Raleigh, in Rocky Mount. “I came here for college and ended up staying for the quality of life. Little did I know that when I came to Raleigh and began at Meredith College that four years later, I would be graduating from North Carolina State University with a BA in Interpersonal and Public Communication. And little did I know either, that I would be a Realtor, too!” Click here to view my resume. Get the Most of Everyday So what is Expect More. Get More. all about? Leadership Beyond Real Estate… Having been brought up in a small town in North Carolina near all of her family, she has strong family roots and traditions. She is very close with her family and routinely makes time to spend with them. “Although we have all moved to different areas of NC, we stay in touch on a daily to weekly basis and see each other very often,” Devon adds. Just as strong meaningful relationships with family members are paramount in Devon’s life, so are ones with friends. She remains close with some of her best friends from college, whom all get together often. “There wouldn’t be much to life without family and good friends,” she says. Just as her desire to stay close with them, her clients find Devon becoming more than just their agent—their friend. “We built a not only a professional relationship with Devon, but a friendship as well,” Kristen Fitzgerald “I couldn’t imagine just forgetting about my clients after the time we spend together in a real estate transaction. I really take the time to get to know my clients and find out exactly what they want. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be doing my job. Even so, I like to stay in touch and go out occasionally for coffee just to catch up,” Devon says. Horses—Her Favorite Hobby!
Some of the greatest lessons she ever learned in life came from horses. One that sticks out clearly to her is when you fall off the horse, always get back on, no matter what. As Winston Churchill said, “Never ever give up.” He also stated, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, either way you are right.” Devon attributes her successes to her relentless determination and support of family and friends.
Volunteering—“Having an Attitude of Gratitude” “I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt in both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back,” Maya Angelou Ever since a teen, Devon has understood the importance of giving back to the community. From helping at the Soup Kitchen, to rebuilding roofs and remodeling houses, she finds time in her daily life to contribute to the community. As a member of the Raleigh Jaycees, she has chaired several projects, been a cubscout leader, and helped with their annual Haunted House. Devon is a Big Sister and has a wonderful mentoring relationship with her Little Brother, Taiquan. Together, they have gone to At KW Cary, they launched the first annual Fashion Victim Charity Ball in November 2006. Agents at KW Cary found numerous community sponsors and made contributions to the two beneficiary charities: April’s Angels(link below) and The Center for Volunteer Caregiving(link below). “It was wonderful to be a part of something so special for our local community. We all helped out and pulled together to make the ball a huge success. I know that next year it will be even larger—and is going to grow every year. We all had a great time dressing up as ‘fashion victims.’ My 1920’s lamp shade dress got a lot of attention—as did all the other tacky party clothes!” At Home… |
